Connolly Takes GOP Nod

Papers filed at the Rensselaer County BOE make official the acceptance of the Republican Party endorsement by Town Clerk Katie Connolly. She joins the team of Evers, Bott and Hoffman along with Stephanie Piel and Kathryn Dell on the GOP side.

This makes it highly unlikely she will receive an endorsement of the town Democratic Committee which is refusing to endorse anyone on the GOP line in order to ensure voter choice in November. Since Democrats also caucus for the official line, Connolly's fate is not assured although her chances of arguing before a politically charged caucus are diminished by this action.

The town's Conservative endorsement are anything but certain with primaries underway for judicial nods and town board. Michael Miner, has filed a petition for Supervisor pitting him against his boss Mark Evers. Ernie Kern and Daniel Premo have also filed petitions to run for the Conservative endorsement of two board seats against Bott and Hoffman of CPC fame.

Mellisa Liberty has filed an Independence Party petition for town clerk against the one filed for Katie Connolly. Town Republicans received the endorsements from this line which is controlled by the county GOP along with the Conservative Party line.

Democrats will caucus in August to settle their endorsements and fill out the picture for November elections.

I hope this is the year that Katie finally goes away- the voters need to wake up and remove her and her pickled brother from public life.

I believe you have a typo. The name is Marissa Liberty, not Melissa.
