Town Democrats To Meet

Rensselaer County Democratic Chairman Thomas Wade has called an organizational meeting of the North Greenbush Committee after the town chairman, Jeff Spain failed to do as as required under election law and party bylaws.

In a letter sent by Wade to the 16 member committee, he set the meeting for Tuesday October 7th and requested that relevant officers bring all appropriate financial records, check books etc to be turned over to the new officers.

Speculation on the new Chairman centers on Dan Ashley whose strong re-election to the committee in District 8 came at the expense of Spain ally Kathryn Connolly, the town clerk. For the past two years Spain, Connolly and their operatives invested much time attempting to smear the reputation of Ashley and his allies in the party. The vote is a clear rejection of the demonization efforts by this now defeated group.

This will end a sad chapter under Spain in which the party was sold out to the GOP and the town board turned over to them. More information can be found on the town Democrats website here.
