Town Clerk Kathryn Connolly's announcement in this week's Advertiser begs the dual questions of credibility and competence. She announces she is seeking "Re-election" as your Democratic Committeewoman in District 8. Trouble is she does not represent District 8 on the Democratic Committee and never has been elected from that district.

Imagine if Tracey Brooks were to to run an ad stating she was seeking re-election as your Congresswoman in the current round of Democratic Primaries. We're not picking on Ms. Brooks as the analogy would apply equally to each of the candidates running in the upcoming primary to replace Representative McNulty.

Yet Ms. Connolly appears to think nothing of misleading voters of the 8th Election District in North Greenbush by in effect declaring her incumbency in one of two seats currently held by Patricia Noel and Daniel Ashley.

We have to wonder whether Ms. Connolly would be amused if at the next election for Town Clerk, her opponent were to run ads seeking "Re-election as your town clerk"? We think not.
