Casale Conservatives File on Paper

We’ll our thanks to the comments column for alerting the Pipeline to a paper filing by the town conservative Committee run by Casale Excavating, holders of the infamous Water District 14 contract. A check with the Board of Elections confirms they filed on paper July 5th for the period ending July 15th. They have yet to file on line with the State Board of Elections and the town Democratic Committee under Jeff Spain hasn’t bothered to file at anything all.

The report shows the Conservatives with a balance of $3986.20. There were $2603.80 in expenditures and much to Jeff Spain’s chagrin, some $5640.00 in UNITEMIZED contributions which are donations under the $100.00 reporting requirement. Spain loved to make up accusations about the Democratic filings under Ashley and Smith for failing to identify the UNITEMIZED contributors even though the law does not require a committee to list or itemize such contributions. Spain’s “Reformed Democrats” committee also listed UNITEMIZED contributions but for Jeff we presume there is a different law in play.

Items of interest include $180.00 from Mike Miner, Conservative Committee man who approved most all of the Applications for Payment to Casale Excavating for Water District 14 in his role as an employee of the Building Department. Also thanks to Lou Desso for his $400 loan which was quickly repaid.

We hope the Conservative Treasurer gets his computer fixed and learns the intricacies of BOE software that enables on line filing of these reports as mandated on line. We also hope the Democratic Treasurer, Receiver of Taxes Kyran Devery figures out how to file his report if even with crayons and a paint by number canvass. It doesn’t make an elected official who handles tax money look good when he ignores financial disclosure laws and his responsibility to file them. That’s a point sure to be mentioned by his opponents in the Republican and Greenbush Parties.

Late Financial Disclosure Count:

Kyran Devery
Today is Day 39 for the North Greenbush Democratic Committee violation of State Election Law requiring the on line filing of a Financial Disclosure Report due July 15, 2007. Laws apparently don’t apply to the “reformed” democrats under Jeff Spain and his Treasurer, Tax Collector Kyran Devery.
