Lou calling!

The North Greenbush Conservative Committee, a subsidiary of Casale Excavating, holders of the overspent multimillion dollar contract in Water District 14, held a fundraiser last night at the Troy Elks.

We reported the fundraising event on May 7th. What we couldn’t have predicted was former GOP town board candidate Lou Desso calling Democratic Officials he campaigned against in 2005 asking them to come to the event. Democratic phones were a buzzing with astonishment and as the calls came in, folks were being shocked with news that the so called Democratic Town Committee is apparently planning to run Desso for the seat the party soundly defeated him for in 2005.

County Democrats are beginning to realize that the folks who narrowly took control of the party were backed by the same development interests that ran the GOP town board slate in 2005. Even more amazing is the apparent political amnesia of Town Clerk Kathryn Connolly who was being purged by the GOP team in 2005 from her clerk’s seat for failing to sign her oath book. Lou Desso was in the audience applauding, loudly, every move of his running mates, Bob Ashe and Joe Styzcnski. The folks saving her but from the purge of 2005 were the party members she then voted to purge from her party on Tuesday night by illegally declaring them off the Democratic Committee.

So here we are less than two years later with Connolly supporting the people who tried to screw her and screwing the people who tried to save her. The North Greenbush Pipeline likes that last sentence because it so precisely sums up the political scene that has consumed North Greenbush. No one understands who’s on first and whether they should be out or really stole second. Better yet no one understands the sensibilities of these people, most likely because they are loyal only to themselves or the money and contracts they hope to control by seizing political power in the town.

As for the fundraiser at the Elks, Democrat turned Conservative turned Democrat James Germano was present just a day after his cohorts on the Town Democratic Committee allowed his letter to be entered into “evidence” in the flogging of two former party leaders. Germano had proclaimed himself “the greatest” in his three page letter, never referencing the shenanigans which got him indicted and tried with Republican Henry Zwack, the man he denied ever supporting in his letter. Revisionism is a convenient tool of politicians, especially ones with much to hide. New Democratic Chairman Jeff Spain is apparently a straight A student of his mentor Germano’s revisionism. Supporting Mark Premo, the popular Highway Superintendent is now declared as disloyalty by the new regime and those who continue to support him are subject to charges and trial by political flogging. The lock step boot strappers on Spain’s committee are afraid to stand up to Germano on Premo’s behalf, lacking any semblance of intestinal fortitude. The word spineless is just too weak to describe these gutless cowards.

The strategy here is becoming apparent. Silence opposition, declare them irrelevant, accept no criticism, obey no inconvenient law, invent laws and enforce them and win at any cost. The only thing in the way of this crew are a solid slate of Republicans and a large group of Democrats with a impassioned resolve to trip up their path to power with the developers.

Stay tuned.

Only in North Greenbush!

Is everyone reading here telling their friends and neighbors to read here? The average voter, who doesn't really stay connected, except at election time when they walk in that voting booth, needs to have their eyes wide open and learn who the wolves are.

I think we saw in the last election the power of the vote. The last vote clearly showed that the taxpayers wanted the Tazbir regime out. This time the voters will show they want the development controlled officials gone and that those trying to get in are not welcome. But its time to start campaigning now by informing your friends and neighbors. This voter hopes the Pipeline will tell us all where we can get lawn signs come election time. Once again, its time for the people to show the snakes just who really controls the town!

The biggest problem in Town is the Democrats fighting etc. The Republicans had a fundraiser and only 18 people showed up at the legion Tuesday night but why would our Supervisor be there. Mr. Evers what party do you represent anyway.
The point being the Republicans are weak but the dems keep fighting and will be weaker.

To the previous poster, obviously Mr. Evers represents the party that will line his pockets and give him kickback money. This has nothing to do with politics and everything to do with developer's money. Politics are just a tool to these people. A money making tool. Let's not let them use our tax dollars to fund their bank accounts.

The list only begins with Evers...let's see...Ashe, Mandel-Clemente, Miner....it just keeps on rolling!
