It seems town Republicans have no love for animals especially Zebras. This Facebook post touting their latest mailer shows no shame while claiming the animal should be protected, they blast a Democratic Council candidate for expressing his concern for their safety. That concern was expressed on a social medial platform by Mike Myer, reacting to news that several Zebras escaped from their preserve and were roaming around the area as close to 20 miles from the nation's capital.
What these family value candidates did not express concern over is one of their own, Jim Gordon and his domestic violence incident documented in a 911 call a few years back with his wife calling for emergency assistance. At the time he was running for Mayor of Troy. No, town Republicans are instead critical of a candidate who cares about animals that "are not native to North Greenbush".Did I miss something? Jim Gordon is not native to North Greenbush either. He just moved here from Troy. Yet they embrace and run him for office.
Perhaps Republicans should make a ballot substitution. The Zebra for Gordon. Bet the Zebra would beat him hands down because people here care about animals, native or not. It's a cheap and sad reflection on you guys and the clown that thought up the mailer.
Keep expressing your concern for animals Mike Myer and let them keep knocking you for it while ignoring the more issue issue of domestic violence.
