The Sabo-Connolly Team of "Empty Chairs"

We couldn't help but notice with amazement the signature of the candidate not endorsed by her Democratic party for Supervisor, Mary Frances Sabo, on the petitions of Republican endorsed candidate for Town Clerk, Katie Connolly.(Line 19)

Amazing because during the 2017 election Sabo campaigned with then Democratic Clerk candidate Laurie Gendron who narrowly lost by less than 100 votes to Connolly because Connolly rarely goes to work. For months we assume Sabo agreed with her then running mate and we assume she supported Gendron. But why in the world would Sabo sign a petition designating Connolly to run on the Democratic line after such a campaign and why would so called Democrat Sabo sign a petition for a Republican endorsed candidate to run as a Democrat? If Connolly wins the Democratic line voters have no choice in November and apparently that's ok with Sabo too.

Then again one empty chair in the town clerk's office in town hall would have company in the Supervisor's office if Sabo won the primary because she is sitting in a chair in downtown Albany at her $127,000 state job and not in the Supervisor's office in Town Hall.

But what a slap in the face to Gendron and what questionable judgement by Sabo whose only real loyalty is her own self interest. Being Supervisor was more important than the friends she had in the Democratic party and more important than winning two more seats this year and gaining a real voice and majority.
