Supervisor candidates spar over hidden conflicts of interest

The Times Union will shortly publish this on line story involving the insurgent candidate for the Democratic nomination for Supervisor and her failure to disclose business ties of her husband, an attorney, to at least one major developer. You can read it here.

A reading of the article makes it clear that Councilwoman Sabo does not understand the conflict of interest created by her spouse working as an attorney for developers or she does not care. Now it appears we understand why she did not criticize the developer when he was shut down by the Army Corp of Engineers for covering a stream without a permit, violating the Clean Waters Act. To do so would have placed her in a position of criticizing her husband's client.

Hence she could not do what she was elected to do, protect town residents from irresponsible actions by developers.

In the story she claims her spouse has not represented any developers or their projects in town since she was elected beginning January 2017. Time will tell.
