Desso Stiffs Restaurant Owner for Entire Fundraiser Bill

UPDATE:

Desso has busy trying to cover his tracks. He must not understand that he can't destroy State records of his Financial Reports by simply amending them and removing in this case, what may become evidence as the State Board of Elections audits his filings. You've been caught again! Stay tuned!

The Times Union is reporting what many of us knew for months, that Lou Desso stiffed a respected town businessman for the entire bill for his June 2015 fundraiser.

In July of 2015 Desso listed a "partial payment" on his official filing to the State Board of Elections in the amount of $1300.00 for that June 2015 event at Moscatiello's Restarant. For two years he failed to file any further final payment for the bill which it turns out was another $7000.00

After a formal complaint to the State Board of Elections earlier this year after Desso filed a bill for his 2017 event at a different restaurant for over $6000, Desso received an inquiry which he reacted to by filing an amended Schedule K In Kind Contribution from the restaurant owner in the amount of $7000.00 The entire balance of the bill for the cost of food, beverages and labor to serve nearly 500 people.
Here is a picture of that crowd.
So it was all free, hey Lou? First before he posted an official report with the State he should have known that $7,000 exceeds the maximum amount that can be donated by law. Chalk one up for dumbness. He did however demonstrate that he knew what the final bill was, $7000. But he forgot that Moscatiello's documented their In Kind contribution to him at $750.00, in writing in August 2015.
In effect Desso is stiffing the owner for the bill, trying to claim the entire $7,000 as a contribution but again makes himself appear ignorant of the law by telling the Times Union the $7000 was a MISTAKE, that it should have been $750. So what happens to the balance? If you believe Lou, he apparently pockets it without reporting the contribution to the State as required by law. The reality is that "mistake" he admits requires him to pay Moscatiello's what he owes them, the difference between the bill and the $750 contribution. Instead Lou concocts some crazy story that he has a "verbal agreement" with Moscatiello that allows him to legally keep the money, apparently without reporting it to the State, and placing the legal burden on the owner to Prove otherwise in order for him to be paid.

Let's call it what it is, a DISGRACE. Pay the man Lou!

Lou Desso has turned out to be a dirty politician gaming the system for his own personal gain. I regrettably have voted for him in the past, but never again. Hopefully the voters will repay Lou Desso "in kind " for his disgraceful behavior on election day. " VOTE NO TO DESSO "

If he's not guilty of anything why did he get a lawyer to help him respond?
