Town Budget Released

The proposed 2011 town budget was released yesterday as reported in today's Record. You can read some of the highlights in the article here.

It is also a long overdue first that the budget is available on line. You can read the Supervisor's message here and the budget document here.

It appears to do what prior budgets failed to do, at least from the interpretation of the Record. It holds the line on new taxes while actually reducing spending and may be able to erase the deficit. Past budgets simply ignored the deficit.

The budget must go through a public hearing and is subject to change by the town board.
