Stay and Play

As we reported last week, Lou Desso's Troy attorney, who is apparently too busy counting his paychecks from being on the payroll in North Greenbush and other municipalities to return phone calls from the Record, got a stay of Judge Michael Lynch's order removing him from the town board pending his appeal. Judge Lynch himself issued the stay of his own order.

The case will be "accelerated" in the Appellate Division meaning that it will be reviewed quickly. That still could take months, however, with the actual appeal often taking quite a bit of time to perfect. So Desso and the others can remain of their boards and vote until it is decided. However those votes are subject to nullification where Desso is in a 3-2 majority so he'll be counting on the two new board members not to think and act independently. God forbid, hey.

Here is a link to today's story in the Record and here's another link to a letter in the Record on this subject by the Chairman of the North Greenbush Democratic Committee.
