It's a mater of crunching numbers and messaging them to spin and suit the political need.It appears that Rensselaer County Republicans are playing the same spin game that North Greenbush Republicans play with our 2009 budget.
A story in this week's Metroland shows the spin from the County GOP that taking 2 million more this year than last year from the Property Tax Levy is NOT raising your taxes. Hmm, lets say that again with a straight face, Taking more money out of your pockets than last year in NOT raising your taxes.
Well Mark Evers, Lou Desso Al Spain and Ernie Kern probably agree. They are increasing town spending and increasing the money taken from BOTH the Property Tax Levy and the Highway Levy by 3% yet they claim they are NOT raising your taxes.
Read the Metroland story here and remember, you are NOT paying more taxes this year than last year in either Rensselaer County or North Greenbush. If you believe that, we have a 6.4 million dollar Water District to sell you for just 8.4 million.
