A Budget Without Transparency

Today's Troy Record has a letter to the editor concerning the lack of transparency in the town budget. You can read it here.

It's a light news day locally although we are workng a major story that spells bad news for some folks in in the Democratic party.

The following is a direct quote from the letter to the editor of the Troy Record that was written by Charlie Smith. 'There are $85,026 in unspecified raises in SIX elective and appointed departments which, if returned to taxpayers, would lower property taxes by 8.5 percent.'

Is $85,026 all that it will really take to lower North Greenbush taxes by 8.5% ?

Roughly $10,000 raises or lowers by 1% in the tax levy.
