Rensselaer County Democrats will meet tonight at 6:30 at the American Legion on Main Avenue in Wynantskil to organize and elect officers. Yesterday, a letter was received by all county Democratic Committee members from Steve Green of Rensselaer announcing that he was withdrawing as a candidate for county chairman.
That leaves current Chairman Thomas Wade without an opponent and the likely winner of a new two year term leading Democrats in Rensselaer County.

Water 15 Flier Drags Canestrari's Name Into Fray
A flier was distributed to many residents of the proposed Water 15 boondoggle, the price tag of which is nothing short of astronomical, more than $800 a year for 30 years in bond costs alone. If passed it coulkd force many people out of their homes because they simply will not be able to afford to live there.
What is odd is the flier mentioning Assemblyman Canestrari as a contact point for people to call. He has nothing to do with the water districts in this or any town. So either the author is misinformed or is trying to mislead people into thinking Canestrari is supporting the boondoggle.
