You might have guessed that the news is dominated by Senator Bruno's decision to retire. While the implications continue to reverberate in our area, two groups continue to gather petitions for the Rensselaer County Democratic Committee while only one of these groups gathers petitions for Brian Premo, the Democratic designee to the 43rd Senate seat Bruno holds. The other group of "Democratic" petitioners supports Republicans and have refused to carry party petitions for the Democrat. They also declined to carry Democratic petitions for Judicial Delegates or the NY State Democratic Committee.
Here is a letter from Democratic Committee member Josephine Ashworth who Jeff Spain did not attempt to purge for "disloyalty" as he did to other Democrats who stood up to him at a bizarre "trial" he held at the Country Grove a year ago. The letter appeared in today's Troy Record.
