Attacking Grants and Retirment Fraud

North Greenbush never disappoints those who think that just when you thought you'd seen everything, well... Take the agenda for Thursday's Workshop for example. The Evers majority has an item on the board to attack the State grant awarded to the town to identify possible contamination sites on Main Avenue. Yes, the Supervisor signed the application for the money, but well we can't take State money that is awarded because of the town board's commitment to the adoption of the Comprehensive Plan! Evers and Spain, Desso and Kern are all stalling adoption of the completed plan and basically starting over. While they stall, state money for the BOA grant potentially worth hundreds of thousands of dollars and Mike McNulty's seniority fade away to fund the I-90 Connector as the Evers majority allows developers to continue to call the shots in North Greenbush. BOA would ensure clean up of any contamination sites on Main Avenue and allow this business district to be revitalized into something special.

So the group will try to argue downfalls to the State money, other than the obvious, because they are likely to loose the grant because of their irresponsible action stalling the comprehensive plan. Can't wait to here these arguments. Mark, let Ernie lead the charge on this one. You won't look so bad since you supported the application as Supervisor.

State Retirement Fraud

The bloggers have been busy pointing out possible fraud to add to the State Comptroller and Attorney General's on going investigation into potential fraud in the retirement system. North Greenbush has an item discussing possible town problems on this week's agenda. Hmm, some of those attorney appointments recommended by the still secret Evers Transition Team?
