Desso’s Actions Speak Louder than Words

After reading the letter submitted to the Sand Lake Advertiser last week by Councilman Lou Desso, we have to ask him how his actions support the claims and pledges made in his letter?

He says he intends to make the town’s future brighter and end the “controversies” he claims have plagued the town board over the past several years.

We wonder how Mr. Desso words measure up to his vote to appoint an attorney with a criminal record to represent us in town court?

We wonder how appointing a former Troy judge as Deputy Town Attorney who removed from the bench by the Commission on Judicial Conduct and the State’s Highest Court ends controversy in North Greenbush?

We wonder how refusing to disclose the names of his transition team who recommended these appointments to Desso “brightens” the town’s future by hiding the shadowy figures who recommended he vote to appoint these non residents who possess either substantial ethical or criminal issues in their background?

We wonder why Desso and his team of Evers, Spain and Kern can justify failing to do a background check on the attorney with the criminal conviction record to see what else may be in his past that “qualifies” him to represent North Greenbush in justice court?

We wonder how the name of F. James Germano’s son was forwarded to serve on the Planning Board and chair it no less?

We wonder how Desso ends controversies by failing to demand that the Democratic Chairman, Jeff Spain, obey State Law and disclose all of his contributions and expenditures received for more than a year which helped financed his campaign.

We wonder too, how failing to bring a quick adoption to the two year effort to produce a Comprehensive Master Plan which represents a $52,000 investment by taxpayers, does anything to protect the interests of our citizens and the taxpayers, educators, emergency services personnel and business community, all of whom provided the input for this blueprint for future development for North Greenbush?

We did not find answers to these questions in Mr. Desso’s letter to the Advertiser.

We look forward to the next issue and answers to each of these questions in an effort to truly bring about that bright future Mr. Desso pledged in his letter.
