Virus, Worm, or ...?

For those in town who may be unaware of the behind the scenes meddling and obnoxious interference that exemplifies Town Clerk Kathryn Connolly's presence in town hall, she was kind enough to provide us a classic example via her email account. In fact, she provided this example to the entire database of people who are notified by email of town meetings and agendas via a BCC or blind carbon copy field which hides from you who is on the distribution list of recipients.

What follows are two emails. One apparently sent in error to the entire town which was supposed to be confined to her new adversary, Town Attorney Josh Sabo. In it she complains that she is "overworked" and is upset that the Town Attorney has asked the Town Clerk to act as a clerk and provide records for litigation that the attorney is working on. " I need to tell you I have never been asked to put together the record for a lawsuit, the Attorney does that and most of this information was created by you such as the Agendas, so I am a little confused, my only guess is that this is to make an already incredibly overworked person do something that has already been provided and that is already in your possession,..."

This is the same town clerk that INSISTS on meddling in every office in town hall, who "prepared" the budget two years in a row because the Supervisor frankly hasn't a clue how. It's the same clerk that insisted she have control over the taping of meetings at town hall for public airing and went out and spent $1600.00 without authorization, on a fancy ceiling camera, dubbed "the Katie Cam" only to decide not to air certain meetings without ever telling the town board.

Yes it's the same "overworked" clerk who insisted on trying to take over the town Democratic Committee, attacking the many Democrats including Josh Sabo, who spent their time trying to protect her political hyde from Robert Ashe's GOP majority on the town board. The same overworked clerk who had lots of time at town hall to hold meetings with political operatives from Lou Cotrona to her brother Tom Connolly in their effort to take over the Democratic Committee. And the same town clerk who showed her appreciation to fellow Democrats like Dan Ashley and CB Smith, who kept the TV media at town board meetings when her GOP town board adversaries were trying to remove her from office in 2005 for forgetting to sign the oath book.

It's ironic to hear her complain about doing some of the tasks one would expect of a clerk. After all, this clerk argued in front of the County Civil Service Commission that she was the official clerk of the town board in an effort to deny another adversary, her deputy of 12 years, Jean Messick, an appointed position as a confidential assistant. That's a non competitive title which Ms. Connolly could not manipulate in an effort to rid town hall of those she holds in disfavor.

Now the town clerk is "overworked" and going after fellow Democrat and party committee member Josh Sabo who once ran into court in an effort to get an order stopping the then GOP town board from removing her only to be thanked by her support for the GOP endorsed candidate for Supervisor.

It's no wonder Democrats from the town and county are circling the wagons for the 2008 Democratic Committee seats. Loyalty is a funny thing in politics and the Connolly's have proven time and again that their only loyalty is to themselves and their agenda of the moment. So here it is, Katie Connolly's slap at Josh Sabo, sent to the entire town e-mail data base in error. It is followed by her "Excuse Email" in which she pleads for folks not to open it and claims a "virus or worm" caused it to be sent in the first place. There are, of course, a plethora of words that come to mind which truly explain the intent of her first missive, none of which compliment the character of the sender. We prefer to let you, the reader, fill in that blank, although, the first two words are pretty good adjectives as well. But here's a look at your town clerk, holder of the Democratic caucus vote by 50 votes, and counting.

By the way, the minutes for 2006 town board meetings Ms. Connolly claims are available on the web site, don't open.

Josh, all minutes for the Town Board are on the website www.townofng.com The specific agendas and resolutions for 2006 I will forward to you. The minutes for 2006 are on the website. As for the planning board agendas and minutes they to exist in entirely on the town website for the time period requested. There are no transcripts, which I am taking as true transcripts of a stenographer, my minutes are not transcripts and I wouldn't want to put the forth that they are. We are working on recordings, but without the right software they may not be able to hear them and if they want them from the small tapes I have never recorded them the requestor comes in and records them. Also I am only required by law to keep recordings for four months after the meetings and I reuse the small tapes and at this point the recordings from the system are very large files and I can't keep them stored on the computer.
I will leave copies of the affidavits of publication for the requested hearings in your box. As for the EAF I believe you have that and the copy of the check for 250 which would be letter cc) and v) respectively.
I have asked Mike for the stop work order and correspondence from the Army corps if he has it. I will fax this to you if we have them.
So looks like I need to provide the affidavits which I have copied and faxed to you, the material Mike Miner may have and the resolutions that are needed. And the recordings I may still have on the computer, again they can't be saved forever (the files are too large) nor do they need to be but I will check. I believe you have everything else. Let me know if you need anything else but I think you have all that can be provided.
I need to tell you I have never been asked to put together the record for a lawsuit, the Attorney does that and most of this information was created by you such as the Agendas, so I am a little confused, my only guess is that this is to make an already incredibly overworked person do something that has already been provided and that is already in your possession, I would assume and hope that is not the case.
Again I have been very busy this week especially the last few days trying to get letters together and to the right people for the Three (3) grants to the Dept of State so that we can secure the applications. So it seems as Town Attorney you could be involved in this lawsuit it is not my duty to put a record together for a lawsuit but to direct you to the records and give what I only have.

One can't help but feel badly for Katie that she's overworked. Especially at holiday time...that is just a shame.

There's always a solution - she can resign.

Is it Christmas, Santa Claus? If she resigns, I know an incredibly gifted, caring, experienced person that would take that job and restore dignity where for TOO MANY years has been lacking.
