Spain v. Wade

No oars needed for this "Roe" boat! An article published in yesterday’s Troy Record certainly described the division which separates County Democrats from the so called North Greenbush “Reform” Democrats under Chairman Jeff Spain. County Chairman Wade expressed his frustration with what he accurately assessed as a GOP inspired lawsuit attempting to nullify the newly revised bylaws of the County Democratic Committee.

Wade accurately described the logical motivation for a town Democratic Chairman to sue his county party in an effort to nullify bylaws which give the county chairman the authority to call a party caucus in a town where the local chairman fails to do so, either because there is no chairman in that town or, as in the case of Spain, he has made a deal with Republicans to endorse their slate and intends not to call a caucus so as to deny local Democrats their right to endorse candidates.Wade said Spain's lawsuit is a blantently "Republican driven and sponsord action." He went on to say
"I believe Jeff's objective is not to have any Democratic candidtes thereby ensuring victory by the Republican slate." "It is clear he made a deal with the county Republican organization for cross-endorsements on the Republican line and the Independence and Conservative Party lines which the Republican Party controls."
Since he is supporting Evers and Desso on whose behalf county Republicans turned in designating petitions yesterday, it seems Wade is right on the money. It's hard for Spain to argue facts exposed by petitions filed at the Board of Elections.

Late Financial Disclosure Count:

Today is Day 5 for the North Greenbush Democratic and Conservative Committee violations of State Election Law requiring the filing of a Financial Disclosure Report due July 15, 2007. Laws apparently don’t apply to the “reformed” Democrats under Jeff Spain and his Treasurer, Tax Collector Kyran Devery. Nor for Conservatives under Michael Casale and his Treasurer, J. David Wos.

Shame on all of them for manipulating our Democracy! People have died for our right to an open and honest government and these people dare to corrupt it!

They should get out of politics, start reading some History books and learn a respect for our country and our government before they participate again.

At the end of your life you can only look behind at what you've contributed. These players need to take an honest look at themselves.
