Purgers Receive Spanking from County Dems

Well it seems Jeff Spain and his so called reform Democrats are on the receiving end of a written spanking for their attempted purge of two county committee members last month. The North Greenbush Pipeline has received a copy of a letter from the County Democratic Party Chairman, Thomas Wade dated June 8, 2007.The letter says basically, “I told you so!”

It notes that on May 19, 2007, the County Chairman advised the Town Chairman, Jeffery Spain, that his plan to hold a trial and convict members of the county committee guilty of corruption and disloyalty would not be accepted, recognized or tolerated. Naturally, Spain ignored his party Chairman’s warning and showed the whole town and the County Democratic Committee what he and his narrow majority of Germano led blank check development Dems think about the rule of law and the right of dissent on his town committee. He held his show trial and purged Ashley and Smith.

That forced County Chairman Wade’s hand. He presented the issue and the action he took to a meeting of his Executive Committee which unanimously approved his actions and directed a letter be sent to Spain and his minions to grow up and act like Democrats instead of Bolsheviks.

Wade, after the I told you so, states “Accordingly, all members of the Rensselaer County Democratic Committee are to be notified of any and all future meetings and allowed to participate as voting members of the Committee in any and all business. Be advised that I will continue to uphold the bylaws of the Democratic Party and the Election Law of the State of New York.”

Gee, does that mean Spain can’t get a majority on the Town Committee to endorse his brother who works for the GOP administration in Troy to run as a Democrat in North Greenbush? After all, as his brother he would have to show his ethics and recuse himself from any committee vote.

And how about his desire to endorse the Germano led Republican slate of Evers and Desso. Will Tony Farina their swing vote actually endorse the bandits being foisted on the town GOP by the County GOP and eliminate a choice for town voters. Tony’s wife works for the respected Democratic Congressman Mike McNulty. It’s doubtful the Congressman would appreciate Democratic Committeemen voting to support the Republican town board slate here or anywhere else in this Congressional District. The McNulty’s are card carrying DEMOCRATS.

Better yet, Farina is an outspoken supporter of Mark Premo, the long time Democratically endorsed Highway Superintendent. Will Spain try to hold a committee meeting to endorse the developer Mike Carey who has been endorsed in an act of revenge by Spain’s allies in the Conservative and Independence Committee?

Look out Mr. Farina, you could be the next one to be purged by the queller of all dissent and disloyalty, Jeff Spain and his renegade attorney who awaits a ruling from the Committee on Professional Standards on Complaints filed by CB for professional misconduct. He sure gave you some good advice, hey?

LATE ADDITION: We received an e-mail at 9:30 PM reporting events at the Rensselaer County Democratic Commitee Meeting in Troy held last evening. The County Committee was read the letter sent by Chairman Wade and his Executive Committee to Spain and his North Greenbush Purgers. The speaker was C.B. Smith and he thanked the Chair and his Executive Commitee for affirming the rights of all Demmocrats to dissent and stll be Democrats. He said the letter protected the right of dissent of every committtee person in the county and asked they affrim its content and purpose. The vote of the County Committee was unanimous, save one voice, Jeff Spain. How's it feel Jeff?
