So, did you get free dirt?
The public comment side even had one resident calling on "lootin' Louie" to resign in the wake of all the negative headlines he's produced, the latest being a front page expose in the Sunday Times Union. But a former board member who spoke stole the show by repeatedly asking Lou if he got free dirt, using his 3 minutes to repeat the question to a responsive smirk from Lou Desso. As you will also see, Lou Desso's ongoing charade regarding the town Ethics Board was exposed. For months he has pretended to have seated the Ethics Board. But a FOIL request read aloud put the lie to rest. The town responded to a request for records in June affirming that there were no records of any letters notifying the three persons appointed in January nor did they ever sign the oath book withing 30 days as required by law. Once 30 days expires the appointments become a nullity. Lou has even managed to put a local parish priest whom he "appointed" apparently without ever telling him, in the middle of his debacle. (That's why they have confessions!)So that may be why the ethics board chair has ignored the councilwoman's letter and Lou had better think twice about the planned meeting of his ethics board in August as he stated at the beginning of the meeting in the first video since the board is not lawfully appointed.
The Good News!
With the Supervisor taking free gifts and not paying his bills, it's great to end this post by congratulating our police department and recognize the two officers who saved a family home by putting out a fire before the fire department could arrive. These guys had no life saving equipment but had a lot of guts and a fire extinguisher and they didn't hesitate to enter the home and put out the flames. Too many times we read about problems with local police departments and in fact across the country. But at least here in North Greenbush they cast a great light on the community. Thank you!
