NG Dems reap what they sow and are swept away

You can read the results here, but the seeds for this defeat were planted when Mary Sabo decided to primary her party's choice for Supervisor in 2019. She did so dismissing the Democratic Committee's legitimate concerns that her State job would conflict with the duties of a Town Supervisor.
She would go on to be defeated by Republican Joe Bott and the following year she organized a primary for committee seats, refusing to admit the committee was right not to endorse her.Throughout the Supervisor primary, she concealed the truth from voters and her committee. That truth was displayed by the GOP in a mailer which included a letter from her employer ordering her to stop campaigning in that primary. She had failed to get the required permission from her employer to run for Supervisor, because she knew her job was conflicted and could never get that permission.
She ran anyway, lost her job and many of her most ardent supporters on the committee because she lied and misled them. What she won last year was control of a committee filled with amatures. Her committee member in ED 6 decided to run for county clerk against the most popular politician in the county and was historically crushed with nearly 70% of the vote.
Last night, Sabo's decisions hit home as she too was crushed in her re-election bid for town board.
Now the war she began in 2019 has witnessed the final battle. The committee she took over in 2020 primaries split the party and her support. Last night she and her entire contested slate were wiped aside. She lost everything and took her fellow candidates with her. And while finger pointing will surely occur, the responsibility for these defeats rests on Buckbee Road with the party's leadership.
