Desso continues campaign to mislead

Showing increasing signs of desperation, Lou Desso has put a letter to the editor in the Advertiser which rewrites the facts and history of his personally advocated $289,000 tax break for Cole Collision on Rt. 4.

His so called list of facts includes a glaring omission of the amount they were given in tax relief, $289,000 and the fact that he received a large thank you for his personal efforts in the form of a $1000 contribution.

We say personal efforts because Lou neglected to inform voters that he personally lobbied the county IDA for the tax breaks. He supports these breaks which the rest of us have to make up, because neither he nor any member of the town board he controls bothered to show up at town hall at a public hearing on the proposal. Not a word of opposition on behalf of taxpayers.

His opponent and other residents did appear and all spoke in opposition. Lou and his board also failed to appear in Troy when the IDA voted to give our money away. Again residents did appear and all spoke in opposition.

Lou's game of deception has consequences. You pay more, he pays less. Take his personal reduction of his home property taxes, a whopping 16% , some $1897.00 a year in savings by using his political clout in the GOP to get it done quietly. It was only disclosed thanks to the Times Union.

Lou has a Facebook Page in which he flat out lies for sympathy stating his critics are attacking his wife. Not true Lou. You are the one who placed her in a tough spot when you had her falsify your State Financial Disclosure forms to hide your failure to pay Moscatiello's Restaurant some $7000 for a fundraiser in which you received $27,000.00.

For the past two years you have stiffed this business of the money due and are now in court as the restaurant makes an effort to collect it. Entitlement right Lou?

He continues to attack this family business in his article this week. He says a local business tried to get the property "on the cheap", driving up the cost to taxpayers. He implies the business did something improper. When in reality he was bidding at a public auction of the land. That businessman was the owner of Moscatiello's whom Lou stiffed for his $7000 bill for his 2015 fundraiser. Lou does not like people who ask him to pay his bills.

We'll put some more facts up later for Lou to digest. If you see him driving around town on the county clock you can ask him about these things. He'll say it's silly season but the fact is he's still making $83,000 in a county job because his GOP buddies changed the qualifications of two college degrees so Lou could collect political welfare. Facts indeed.
