Germano prepares “Democratic” Slate for Spain

Jim Germano, the former party boss who got cozy with the County GOP when he was indicted with Henry Zwack and his GOP cohorts in bribery scandal is busy once again preparing a slate of candidates to run for the 16 Democratic Party Committee seats in North Greenbush.

Germano selected Jeff Spain as his front man and Chairman after they narrowly won control in January 2007 by a mere single seat. They promised “Reform” but instead endorsed the County Republican slate for town offices then proceeded to appoint an out of town attorney with a criminal record to the town court and another who is a Troy resident who was a judge removed from the bench by the State’s highest court.

It’s always been about the money for water contracts and development as Jeff Spain proclaimed last year his desire to turn RT 4 into another Wolf Road with all of its congestion and unplanned growth. That may be fine for the Spain’s who with their allies have stopped the Comprehensive Plan dead in its tracks, but it does not sit well with the vast majority of town residents who saw the 2005 election as a mandate to get control of development.

Beginning tomorrow, Germano’s hand picked slate of so called Democrats will be circulating petitions for party committee seats throughout the town’s 8 election districts. Their goal is to keep the GOP in control of the Democratic Party along with their Contractor allies in Casale Excavating who run the Conservative Party.

Fortunately, we know who some of these folks are including, Frank Guiliano, Jeff Spain, Kyran Devery, Kathryn Connolly, Ed Cassino, Lou Cotrona and Doreen Connolly. There will be several more added to fill in the gaps but if you are a Democrat and are asked to sign a petition, just ask the petitioner whether he supports Jeff Spain and the GOP candidacies he endorsed in last year’s town election. Then decide whether to sign the petition.

Fortunately, forces aligned with the County Democratic Party are also circulating petitions and are committed to support Democratic candidates for town offices and let the Republicans run whomever they want. This will ensure voters a real choice at the polls and keep the GOP out of the Democratic Party,
It should be quite a lot of fun so stay tuned!

What Committee candidates does the Pipeline support?

The North Greenbush Pipeline said...

The Pipeline supports Democrats who support Democrats, not "Democrats" who support Republicans.

We also support Republicans who support their party and not their opposition party.

It's called democracy.

And people say Charles is not American. That was the most honest answer yet.

How about just supporting the town residents. It's becoming quite obvious that all of the finger pointing, name calling blame games are getting this town no place fast. In fact, all of this nonsense was recently pointed by a local university professor while teaching a class on governmental administration. The professor told the students that the Town of North Greenbush over the pst 5 or 6 years is role model for what small town government should not be.
