Another Grant for North Greenbush

And another "I won't support it from Mark and Ernie?"

North Greenbush Fire District received a $23,256.45 grant which was announced by the Governor. Fire Protection in the Town of North Greenbush is provided by North Greenbush Fire District #1 (Wynantskill Fire Company) and the Defreestville Fire Protection District (Defreestville Fire Company). This project will entail the dissolution of the Defreestville Fire Protection District and expand the North Greenbush Fire District #1 to encompass the entire town, thus consolidating fire protection to a single municipal entity. This dissolution/consolidation action will benefit all residents of the town by providing more cost efficient fire protection and a reduction in municipal costs.

Naturally, Mark and Ernie will find a reason to say no to this one as well. That's why they hired Troy's grant writer to get more grants so they could find a way to reject the funds.

Which Al Spain Do You Believe?

They must be drinking the water because the pair have yet another missive in the Advertiser this week repeating the false claims they made two weeks ago via a press release they issued in response to the release of the State Audit of Water 14.
.
In the first recreation to the audit's findings, the pair tried to pass off all of the criticisms on the "prior board majority". Their pal the Supervisor must have been out of town during the period he signed 5 key vendor claims authorizing all of the over runs without telling the rest of the town board. The pair stated they were supporting audits of two years worth of town books from other area of finances because they wanted to be sure the same kind of practices were not employed in other areas of town finances. They caveat being that it was the majority's fiscal practices, not the Supervisor, who is chief budget officer, whose practices they were concerned with. Trouble is only the Supervisor signs vendor claims and no Board member has ever signed a check and the Audit does not come close to saying what they claim.
.
Then at last week's Board meeting, Al Spain reaffirmed the Water 14 audit had nothing to do with their support of these routine audits required by town law. Spain acted confused by Councilman Michael's inquiry which was obviously inspired by Spain's press release creating a whole new reason for the audits other than the one stated when he first proposed them. Now the pair are at it again with another letter in the Advertiser repeating the lies told in the first release and contradicting themselves from their town board statements. Which Spain do you believe?

The Fire District and the Town jointly applied for this grant, which was prepared by firemen from both fire departments, not a paid grant writer. The Town Board and the Board of Fire Commissioners unamiously approved this grant application. I'm sure all involved will appreciate it if the bloggers leave this one out of the political arena.

It's not the bloggers you should worry about, it's the out of control town supervisor who rejects grants, claims there is massive contamination on Main Avenue without proof, and politicizes the Comprehensive Plan process. Good luck with the grant, bloggers on this side think its great.

Nothing is left out of the Political arena when you are desperate enough- as is our present administration. We all suffer.
