Democrats Start Election Early

We had mentioned a newsletter mailed out by Democrats in North Greenbush who are determined to ensure that the party's commitee endorses Democrats and not Republicans. Here is a copy of that newsletter which discusses several hot topics concerning the town and Democratic voters.

Normally a member of a party committee works to ensure party members are elected and supported at the local, state and federal levels. In North Greenbush, the narrow majority with took control of the town Democratic committee is in a political bed with county Republicans and sold out Democrats seeking town offices.

Should be quite a battle for those commitee seats next September when the party, by law, reorganizes. Spain won with a one seat majjority and that came about because of an unusual switch by one commitee member who had pledge loyalty to the prior leadership.

All eyes on the fight ahead.

Behind the Curve

The town IDA is still missing in action from the town website. Perhaps Evers and company figured out how bad they look by placing a party chairman on this agency.

It took two months and a hit from this publication, but the names of the members of the new Comprehensive Plan Committee have finally been updated to the town web page. No, they still have not figured out what they are doing, what they need to "correct" or what to do so they can call a meeting. So two months have passed and no meeting. $52,000 worth of work lingers as Al Spain spins letters in the newspaper completely devoid of accuracy as to why it was not passed and what he and his friends are objecting to after failing for two years to voice a word of concern at any of the 37 meetings held by the CPC.

Instead of the town board simply adopting the completed Comprehensive Plan so that the zoning can be updated to adapt to the plan and seeking critical financing for the I-90 Connector from Congressman McNulty whose 20 years of seniority will end as he leaves office this year, Spain and company do nothing to further the goals of the community as expressed in the completed document.
