Well, it appears as thought the new Evers majority can’t get to 3 votes to pay Casale Excavating retainage money. Evers called his third special meeting of this month in an effort to force a payment to Casale Excavating and the first two went down in flames with last night’s meeting cancelled by Evers when he could not get a third vote to pass the controversial payment.
Of course Evers blamed the cancellation on the “lack of a quorum”, but the truth is Evers called it off to avoid the embarrassment of another defeat from within his own caucus and majority. You can read more in the Troy Record, here, which sent a reporter to cover the meeting only to find it cancelled with no notice. Not even the town web site had a cancellation notice.
So we will have to wait until February 14th to see if Evers puts it on the agenda for a vote or lays low until the State Comptroller’s audit sheds some light and guidance on the entire mess called Water District 14. Of course if the meeting had merely been cancelled because of a lack of a quorum, as he told the Record, there would be no question it would be on the agenda for the next meeting. However, Evers wouldn't say if it would be on the agenda, a dead giveaway that he misled the newspaper on the real cause of the cancelled meeting.

We bet some people are a bit, well teed-off, having invested all that effort into taking control of the town board and getting nowhere when it comes to paying perceived bills. That’s Evers MO. You just can’t trust anything he says.
Has GOP Chair Jack Casey lost his Mind?
Has GOP Chair Jack Casey lost his Mind?
It still amazing to read Mr.Casey’s call for the resignation of the GOP Chair in North Greenbush after he pled guilty to an election law violation in county court Tuesday. Amazing because Casey made the demand for this resignation for the purity of his party while apparently forgetting he endorsed a convicted felon for town board and supported the appointment of two folks as town attorneys, one with his own criminal conviction record and another who Casey refused to support for District Attorney because he was removed from the bench for judicial misconduct.
While this trio is ideal for Casey’s support for paid public positions in North Greenbush, he apparently wants the hyde of his town chairman for his solo plea to an election law violation because of disloyalty. Now Jack could try the Democratic solution orchestrated by the attorney with the criminal record for Jeff Spain. Hold a "trial" with your commitee majority and convict the disloyal member for treason, then tell him he is no longer on the commitee. Hey, why let election laws get in the way of a good political lynching!
Do you think maybe Casey would not demand the resignation of his town chair if he had been convicted of something more serious? Then he could endorse him for a town board seat instead!
