Got Water?

Thanks North Greenbush!

This town resident scratches the surface of the many angry views raging beneath the electorate on the gross mismanagement of Water District 14 under Conservative Supervisor Mark Evers. This monster sign on West Sand Lake Road near Valente’s Restaurant is well spotlighted for night viewing. Here’s a taxpayer who has been stuck paying the inflated bond for Water 14 which goes into the pockets of the Conservative Town Chairman and Casale Excavating, but years after construction began, he has no water. With Casale doing little or no work to finish the contract from which he has “milked” the stipulated bid of 6.4 million and the entire bond of 7.1 million as well.

Now Casale wants more “milk” to finish the district and folks like this resident who pay the yearly bond and maintenance costs but cant get the water because of the mismanagement of the contract and the incompetence of Supervisor Evers. That's nothing to Mooo about and makes you wonder why Casale endorsed Evers since the Supervisor has no plan in place to pay Casale the additional money Casale claims he is entitled to under the exceeded contract and since his first effort, a $830,000 additional bond for the whole town to pay was stopped by voters with a petition sending the bond to a town wide vote.

Evers reaction to voters was to sabotage the scheduled October 16th vote by doing NOTHING to make it happen. No vote approving more borrowing for Casale and no chance the money will be forthcoming. Since Casale is apparently refusing to finish the work in the district without more money, this taxpayer is getting, well, SCREWD both ways. He’s paying too much, as we all are, for a product the contractor agreed by bid to provide for far less and he’s getting none of the water he’s paying for.

Of course with Casale trying to “buy” the town board by endorsing Evers and the Conservative Vice Chairman Lou Desso, along with their running mate Al Spain, the company will have a lock on the town board and its check book. Imagine the signs that will pop up in town then!

In the meantime, we hope this taxpayer takes a cue from Motel Six, “leave the light on!” Tonight's town board meeting should be interesting as the agenda includes a discussion of the status of the vote by majority Democrats. Evers and Connolly should be a gas as they try to blame the majority, the town attorney and the members of the audience who might be upset their voting rights are being trampled on by the pair.

Late Financial Disclosure Reports
Kyran Devery
Today is Day 89 for the North Greenbush Democratic Committee violation of State Election Law requiring the on line filing of a Financial Disclosure Report due July 15, 2007. They are also 6 days late on a 32 Day Pre General filing due October 5th.Laws apparently don’t apply to the “reformed” democrats under Jeff Spain and his Treasurer, Tax Collector Kyran Devery. Also the Casale Conservative's are 6 days late filing their 32 Day Pre General Report.

Now I know Dear Katie knows how to put together a town vote. Didn't she organize the special vote for the village of Defreestville? Or did she do her job then just because she was angry at Tazbir?

Lot's of us pay for water we're years away from getting. I know I do! Thanks Evers.
