By all accounts it was a good size gathering of Democrats attending the County Committee’s fall fundraiser at Franklin Terrace in Troy Saturday night. A large contingent from North Greenbush was present including Dems running for town offices on the Greenbush Party Line. Conspicuously absent was Jeff Spain and his GOP supporters on the Democratic Committee, with the exception of Anthony Farina whose wife works for guest of honor Congressman McNulty.
A puzzling late entry was Mark Evers, the GOP endorsed Supervisor who was both surprised and miffed the Greenbush slate of real Democrats was announced at the dinner with the other candidates seeking elective office from around the county. Evers stood out like a sore thumb at the gathering. One table asked somewhat aloud, what he was doing here at a gathering of Democrats.
Nonetheless, the Republican supporting North Greenbush committee members boycotted the event with the exception of Mr. Farina who apologized aloud at the Democratic Caucus to Democratic Committee member and attorney Josh Sabo for voting for his GOP endorsed opponent. You have to wonder what the Congressman really thinks about this crowd in North Greenbush. One observer noted that its just not accurate to call these people Democrats or Republicans. They are just a coalition of people who see dollar signs from developers who have infiltrated and taken charge of all four major parties and North Greenbush Taxpayers are in their sights as a dinner entrée.
Tom Wade who is being targeted by the Republican District Attorney’s Office and in particular Assistant DA Joe Ahern, got a rousing round of applause and standing ovation. Wade thanked many people for their help with the Party including to Evers disdain, Dan Ashley and CB Smith.
We mentioned the DA going after Wade. It is believed Assistant DA Joeseph Ahern is manipulating a Grand Jury in an effort to force Wade’s resignation and put a GOP friendly Chairman in to ensure Senator Joe Bruno and Judge Anthony Carpinello have no opponents next year. We wonder if Albany DA and Special Prosecutor’s Office are aware that Ahern retained Victory Lane to run his unsuccessful campaign for Troy City Court Judge. We wonder if Ahern ever visited the Victory Lane Staff of Bob Mirch and Richard Crist at the County Office Building to discuss his campaign and their services? We wonder if he knew they were running a business out of that building as Colleen Regan a former staffer alleged in a sworn affidavit? We wonder if he knew who really prepared the affidavit of Dick Weaver presented to his office?(Hint: His initials are RM)
Funny Ahern would target the Democratic Chair for a political hit reminiscent of the No Show Job Grand Jury that indicted two innocent people while allowing now judge Henry Zwack to avoid indictment. The GOP DA’s Office managed to bankrupt that pair with the cost of defending themselves. But when it comes to investigating GOP staffers right under his nose, he instead hires them to run his campaign. When it comes to investigating his own Chairman and his infamous fundraising letter which Ahern himself likely received in 2005, no action. We hope Mr. Ahern showed that Casey fundraising letter to the Grand Jury he is attempting to secure an indictment from against the Democratic Chair. In case the Grand Jurors are being deprived of seeing how common it is for a chairman to solicit funds from jobholders in his party, here it is and we invite the jurors to read it. For the record, the GOP Chairman asked for $359.00. We’re sure Visa and Mastercard are accepted!

Late Financial Disclosure Reports

Kyran Devery
Today is Day 93 for the North Greenbush Democratic Committee violation of State Election Law requiring the on line filing of a Financial Disclosure Report due July 15, 2007. They are also 10 days late on a 32 Day Pre General filing due October 5th.Laws apparently don’t apply to the “reformed” democrats under Jeff Spain and his Treasurer, Tax Collector Kyran Devery. Also the Casale Conservative's are 10 days late filing their 32 Day Pre General Report.

This comment is regarding the opposition blog:
According to "Fleeing", Chariman Spain was just trying to annoy people with his Wolf Road comment. Well, he did just that.
Why would a Democratic town chairman (Jeff Spain), deliberatly try to annoy a certain segment of NG residents by saying Route 4 should be like Wolf Road? Is this the action of a mature, rational person? I didn't hear his slate of candidates apologizing for the Chairman. Probably because they are all getting promises of personal gain (jobs for family & friends, kickbacks, etc.) from the developer crowd.
This reiterates the importance of electing Rich McNally so that we can get an honest and experienced prosecutor in that office. The problems in that office go beyond Trish, Ahearn is just the most egregious example. If Cholakis wins he has already said he will make no changes, so expect more of the same. Vote for real change, vote for McNally
I heard Katie called Rich and screamed athim for introducing the Greenbush candidates and he inturn called the reform candidates and apologized for doing so. What does that sayabout him? Perhaps, he should ask himself why he didn't get the Independent line.
