A “fund” time

Summer has always been a season for political fundraising and there are a couple of events though, back to back, that are sure to make the list of fun times.

The first is a day at the races sponsored by the North Greenbush Democrats Club. These are the “non reformed” Dems who oppose purge trials and Casale Excavating’s efforts to take over the town, starting with the political parties. The event is scheduled for Thursday August 2nd at noon at Saratoga Race Track.

The flier says $25.00 price gets you food and beverage cooked out on the track’s picnic grounds and racing tips, if you dare. They ask you to reserve a ticket so they can plan sufficient goodies for all who wish to attend. Tickets can be reserved with a check sent to NG Democrats Club, Box 323, Wynantskill, NY 12198.(We can't help but wonder if Jim Germano will be in disguise with his binoculars?)

The other event sent to the Pipeline is the very next day, Friday August 3rd. It’s the always popular “Premo Picnic”, sponsored by the Friends of Mark Premo Committee. This event is again being held at the pavilion at the Town Beach at Snyder’s Lake. Tickets are $25.00 for adults, $5.00 for children and may be obtained by sending your check to Friends of Mark Premo, 208 Pershing Ave, Wynantskill, NY 12198.

This is an all you can eat feast with the usual summer favorites of hamburgers, hot dogs, salads, clam chowder, munchies beer and soda. This looks like an event to send a Pipeline Food Critic, (someone who like to eat and can do a write up on the taste the next day!)

With the 4th of July holiday upon us, picnics come to everyone’s minds. So here are our choices for a couple of good times with friends and families. The Pipeline will not publish tomorrow, the 4th of July and we wish you a happy and safe holiday.
