Some of the folks the Supervisor has tried to stack the Comprehensive Plan Committee with showed up for a meeting Tuesday night and came prepared to complain about not being recognized as members by the Chairman. Thankfully the exchanges took place before the meeting but were centered on why they were not listed as attending the last meeting in the minutes. The group also questioned whether C.B Smith was being paid to attend and take minutes even though it has been made abundantly clear Smith has volunteered to help the committee by attending, taking minutes and posting them to the town web page.
“Didn’t he see us?” quipped J.R. Casale of Casale Excavating when asking Chairman Fennelly why he and the other members of the Evers appointed group were not listed in the minutes. Fennelly explained that there is a difference of opinion between Evers and the majority of the town board as to who has the appointment power for the committee. “Reform” Democratic Vice Chairman Edward Cassino demanded that this be straightened out and apparent was a bit testy. Fennelly explained that the Town Attorney has advised him to act in a manner that preserves the town’s legal position on the appointing authority. The Town Board was scheduled to vote on a Resolution affirming the membership at last evening's meeting. If it passed you can bet it was 3-2.
The group appointed by Evers consists primarily of political folks from the reformed democrats and Casale Excavating Conservatives which controls that minor party in town. For those who have not followed the teams, the two are allies in their effort to take over town government. Evers has been working with an attorney from Nigro Companies, Mary Beth Slevin, who likely concocted the legal strategy designed to screw up, slow down or otherwise keep the committee from doing its job in a timely fashion so as not to disturb their plans or their allies to develop North Greenbush. Recently the North Greenbush Pipeline received copies of communications to the Supervisor’s office advising him on development questions.
So it goes in North Greenbush where the Supervisor has reneged on his campaign pledge regarding support for a new master plan and community supported growth. Not as bad as it was in 2005, when a majority of board members were blank check development proponents in bed with developers but instead of sweeping out that mentality, we have a 3-2 board which supports community planning.

How many people are on this committee? They must need an auditorium to meet in! Just what this town need----a bunch of yahoos disrupting serious people doing serious work. Hope the town board asserts its authority, of course, if Katie lets them!
why would a contractor who is being questioned for wrong doing acting for the town residents on what is good for our future??
why is the supervisor who is being questioned for wrong doing appointing that contractor??
CONFLICT OF INTEREST? is that in the oath book he apparently signed with his oath of office?
Once again, Evers acts unilaterally and illegally. The voters are watching.
EVERS THIS AND THE CONTRACTOR THAT ....no one's been removed from office, evers has prevailed every time and shut up the nay sayers, the contractor has been paid and was not ordered to return the money so it looks like that's another nay say shot down....and to top it all off you've got a town board with pigeon nuts...........
