Wos Rescues Wade

We love it when people put aside their political differences to help someone out who is being wrongly accused for political gain. When the North Greenbush Pipeline received this letter sent by GOP County Chairman Jack Casey to Judith Wos, who was at the time a GOP job holder in North Greenbush, she certainly set Richard Crist, Robert Mirch and their new friend, former Democrat Richard Weaver on their heals.

The group has been trying to change the public conversation away from the Grand Jury investigation into Victory Lane, a business enterprise run out of the county office building using county staff as its employees. Wade is the County Democratic Chairman and Weaver was a deputy at the Board of Elections 13 years ago when Wade was a Commissioner. The pair had a falling out and Wade dismissed Weaver who was then given a job by the GOP.

13 years later, the GOP uses Weaver to attack Wade claiming he tried to shake down and extort money from Democrats employed in county patronage jobs. The proof, well not much more than heresay. That’s where North Greenbush Conservative Committee person Judith Wos comes to the rescue. Wos received a letter from the current GOP County Chair in October 2003 asking her for $359.00 which is the cost to attend all four yearly fundraisers. He even included a self addressed envelope for her convenience.

The letter reminds all job holders of the relationship between their donations and winning elections which in turn provide opportunities to serve in “public jobs”. We don’t know if Ms. Wos sent her check in as requested, but we suspect she did not.

So while Richard Crist and the Victory Lane crew are shooting at Wade, probably in an effort to focus attention on something other than the Grand Jury investigation into their activites, they may have succeeded in giving attention to their own party chairman, and we’re sure Jack Casey is anxious to thank them.
