Designer Water from WD 14
When we were sent this picture of a new bottled water circulating in town, we have to admit it caused a second look. “Castle 14 Water”
The fine print says it all: “There’s something in the water” “20 oz. Of well adjusted water from a place where money is no object in getting it to you. Castle 14 Water * An Expensive Alternative”.
Apparently town Democrats who are unreformed and not aligned with Casale Excavating which took control of the Conservative Party and the “Reformed Democrats” who run the Democratic Party are planning for an expected vote this fall on the bailout proposal of Mark Evers for the overspent, money is no object Water District 14 contract. The referendum would allow the town to borrow another $830,000 to cover illegal charges authorized to the Water District 14 contract incurred without required change orders.
The contract was 6.4 million and could have been for a lot less had the prior town board not wanted to make sure Casale Excavating got the contract over then low bidder Highlander Construction. So with Casale the high bidder his buddies on the town board rebid the contract. This time Casale made sure he was the low bidder by bidding LESS than his first bid while prices for everything had obviously gone up. So when his bid came out $400,000 less than the first high bid and Highlander went up to 7.1 million, Casale got the contract. We wonder if he also got a wink from his pals not to worry about getting more money than the contract allowed. That explains why they freaked out when those who were authorizing the payments lost their jobs in the first weeks of the new board’s take over of the town only to be re-hired.
Here we are two years later and Casale has overspent his low bid to exceed the prior high bid of 7.1 million, and he wants more! That’s a strong motivator to take over the Conservative Party putting brother Michael in charge as Chairman while assisting the takeover of the town Democratic Party away from Ashley who helped expose the over spent contract.
No word on the cost of a bottle of Castle 14 Water. If the contract administration of Water District 14 is any indicator, you’d be happier with Poland Spring.

I'd like to know when the restoration will be done...my property has been a mess for about a year and i don't see the contractor around town.........joe spairana
we need a candidate with some guts and not answerable to anyone. An honest member of the town who will say it the way it is and do what is best for the town, not any individual..any ideas.
Can I buy stock in this water district? Looks like you need to be on the money making end of this scam to get anything out of it. I pay for water, don't have water hook up and I'm told won't have any access to water for many years to come. I'm happy to pay my fair share of taxes but should I really be paying for people on the other end of town to have water?
tell the commentor that wants his property fixed that he will have to stand in line. there are some that are needing fixing for much longer than 1 year- the toipsoil is a backordered item , why doesn't the supervisor of this great town take a walk around to see for himself what needs to be done. the inspection of these properties is without the worst.patty something or other- is he working for the contractor?
All this whining, if something was done illegally, then why is there no FBI investigation?
The FBI has been busy investigating Senator Bruno, but who knows, maybe they will get to the folks in Mayberry!
