Lou's Back!

As you may have noticed from yesterday’s edition of the North Greenbush Pipeline, Lou Cotrona, the fabled lobbyist and apparent Godfather of the Reform Democrats returned to his first Town Board meeting after a noticeable absence. Mr. Cotrona used to be a staple at town hall meetings, but since questions arose about a $2000 contribution that was given to his reform democrats, Mr. Cotrona has been visibly absent from town meetings. Instead his Conservative Vice Chairman Lou (Desso) has been standing in for the usually vociferous speaker and we presume, keeping an eye on that town board which is constantly criticized for 3-2 votes. The North Greenbush Pipeline never quite understood that criticism since it bothered neither Lou when the GOP held the 3-2 majority for years prior and when Lou II ran with the GOP for a town board seat.
Well, Lou Cotrona has emerged from his sabbatical and spoke at the April 12th Board meeting where he attacked Councilman Alan Michaels whom he views as the weak link or swing vote who can be peeled away from the Democratic Majority. We are told that Councilman Michaels engaged him in a testy exchange and Lou retired to the safety of his padded seat a few rows back from meeting icon Lillian Parsons.
You can read more about Mr. Cotrona at a website which details his removal from the East Greenbush School Board several years ago. Political Baggage Department. We encourage all to brush up on the man who is “Desperately seeking Supervisor”, the suggested title of the short story detailing his failed attempt to win the office in 2005.
While the baggage detailed on the web on his removal form the East Greenbush School Board is juicy for those engaged in opposition research, his potential rival for the reform Democrats nomination, Supervisor Evers, has in two short years, surpassed all expectations in the Political Baggage Department, making Mr. Cotrona’s baggage appear as a mere “carry on”.
We at the North Greenbush Pipeline predict an interesting internal battle among the Democrats both “reformed” and “unrepentant” for the Supervisor’s nomination. Imagine, a political fight over who can give the Conservative Chairman the largest illegal check while getting that illegally spent $740,000 in cost over runs in Water District 14 out of the sight of the State Comptroller and safely in the pocket of the Conservative Party of North Greenbush, a Division of Casale Excavating. We guess that makes the “reformed” Dems a “Subdivision”. It is after all, ALL about development!

UPDATE: Mr. Cotrona has found a new pastime as the chauffeur of F. James Germano. The pair were driving about town this morning at 11:30. Again, welcome back Jim!

Let's all hope Alan Michaels can keep his spine. North Greenbush needs every honest, upstanding vote we can get to pull us out of the dregs of corruption and public embarassment time and time again. If there was ever a time for a coucilman to do the right thing...now is it! Gee...maybe Ernie Kern will start paying attention too and decide to contribute something other than the followings of his own corrupt party. Maybe he should reread his campaign material? Come on Ernie...start doing the right thing...be honest...see the players for what they are and be the person your generation is supposed to be! Be a role model. Be remembered for becoming the swing vote who turned North Greenbush around! Time is of the essence.

we need a democrat with NO ties to either group of dems...
That would be the best choice for supervisor and no baggage.

What are Bill Dedrick and Jim Flanigan doing these days? Things were a LOT better when they provided leadership. Famous Ross Perot quote: "Inventory can be managed. People need to be led!"
