The Emperor Speaks

We thought perhaps common sense would sink in to the head of the Supervisor Evers and that he would begin to understand the concept of rule by law. We were wrong, at least when it comes to his role as one of five town board members vested with the power of appointment. Let’s see, can we count to 3 on a 5 member board? Apparently not, at least when it comes to the membership of the Comprehensive Plan Committee.
After our detailed story yesterday exposing his unilateral and unlawful appointments to the Comprehensive Plan Committee, we thought Mr. Evers would take a step back and respect the rule of law. We we’re wrong.
A look at the town website says it all. Mr. Evers has with the help of the Town Clerk, posted without the consent of the town board, the names of his unilateral and illegal appointments. Take a look, http://www.townofng.com/comp_plan/ Tonight’s meeting takes on added significance. If the non appointees after receiving a letter from the Town Attorney notifying them they are not legally appointed, show up and attempt to disrupt the meeting, it will not only disgrace Mr. Evers, but negatively impact the town.
What does it take Mr. Evers for you to respect the fact that you are one of five town board members and no more? Is it your goal to destroy this committee and the great work it has done in spite of you?
So much for your campaign pledge to support this committee, so much for the value of your word.
