Desso pays part of his bill

Lou Desso has agreed to pay part of his long overdue restaurant bill of $6270.00. He is dropping his baseless stalling tactic of an appeal and is refusing to pay the balance of the bill totaling $1270.00.
The court agreed he owed the full unpaid balance, but under state law, city courts can award a maximum of $5000.00.
So Lou would rather face prosecution by the State Board of Elections for falsifying his financial reports than paying his just debt. It is a misdemeanor to offer a false instrument for filing and Desso's reports have since July 2015 failed to report these funds as either a payment or contribution.
Since $1000.00 is the maximum amount of a contribution he can receive, he cannot list the balance as a contribution. In fact, Moscatiello's donated $750.00 which Desso reported so Desso cannot legally keep the balance and he cannot report it as a contribution to his campaign since it would exceed the maximum amount allowed by law.
Politically, how stupid can you be not to pay the whole bill and allow an endless campaign attacking him for stealing this money?
So as we wait now for the State Board of Elections to enforce the law, we will see Desso whacked on radio talk shows and in the media for his effort to steal this money and risk prosecution for falsifying his reports. Smart? No one is accusing Lou on that one.
You can read the story from the Times Union here.

There will be informational protesters in this Memorial Day parade route not only to shame him , but other town board members “ who look the other way “ on his behavior and stand up for him at the Feb 8 meeting . This town is a disgrace !

How can 3 of the current town board members who attended this event and one who even spoke would still want to be connected with Desso.? The noble thing now would be for current board members at next town board meeting to call for executive session to convince Desso to resign . Maybe then our town board can earn the respect back from residents of North Greenbush.
